Early days 

Bruno Fernandes started off with Portuguese side Boavista but did not play any first-team games for them. He joined Serie B side Novara in 2012 and making 23 appearances in his first season before Udinese signed him on a co-ownership deal and nurtured his talents for three seasons, where he scored 11 goals in 95 games.

A season at Sampdoria followed before an €8.5million transfer to Sporting before the 2017/18 season.

It was in the past 2018/19 season where the elegance and class of Fernandes shone: 32 goals
& 17 assists in 53 matches.


Playing style & strengths

Fernandes is a central midfielder who has been compared to Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos but he likes to play further up the pitch to create chances for his attackers, loves a through ball and shots from distance.


An area for the 24-year-old to work on is his tackling and overall defensive contribution.
