COSAFA Cup: Zambia eye fifth title

Zambia national team will be hunting for their fifth title when they square off with Botswana this afternoon at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in the final of the 2019 COSAFA Cup.

The four time Champions however last won the region showpiece back in 2013 and have lost the last two finals to Zimbabwe. The Copper Bullets finally managed to end the Warriors dominance this year winning 4-2 on post match penalties to set up a final with Botswana.

Botswana on the other hand will be playing their second COSAFA Cup final, The Zebras have managed to reach the semi finals on three occasions, 2006, 2007 and 2015. A 2-1 win over Lesotho handed the Zebras a maiden final, certainly it will also be a golden opportunity to win their first title in the history of this competition.

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi is expected to maintain the team that beat Zimbabwe. Zesco United star forward Lazarus Kambole will lead the attack while Austin Muwowo and Enerst Mbewe will play from the wings.

The winner will walk away with half a million rands and claim bragging rights to the COSAFA region.
