DR Congo head coach Florent Ibenge believes Kenya’s Harambee Stars can leave a mark in the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
Ibenge who had to watch his side leave it late in their friendly against Kenya on Saturday believes the Sebastien Migne is a good side that should be watched keenly in the continental competition.
“They (Kenya) are a good team. They have a lot of good players and they were good opposition for us today (Saturday). They were fantastic more so in the first half and they attacked from the flanks and noticed that it is one of their good areas. They can leave a mark in the competition and I wish them well,” Ibenge said after the game.
On his team’s chances, Ibenge was happy that they didn’t go down to Stars but intimated that he was going to make a few changes ahead of their opener against Uganda.
“I’m satisfied with the result because we didn’t lose but we will need to change a few things before we meet Uganda in the opener,” Ibenge added.
Michael Olunga had given Stars a first-half lead only for the Congolese to restore parity in the dying minutes through West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku.
