National Super League side Nairobi Stima will have a new man in charge in the new 2019/20 season after their head coach George Owoko resigned.

Owoko has been having problems with the team since the second leg of the season and at one particular point suspended by the club in what he said was a witch hunt.

Speaking to Futaa, Owoko said: “I have tendered my resignation as the head coach to the club management.

“I have enjoyed my stay there and worked with some wonderful players and I'm proud of my outing which saw us not lose a game in the first leg of the season. I will always be there to support the team and will be available for any advice the younger players since a majority of them are my product.

“I also want to thank the Nairobi Stima Management for the support they accorded me and the team during my stay. I will be open to other offers in the future.”

Owoko’s Stima has a chance of making it in the Kenyan Premier League after finishing third in the National Super League behind Wazito FC and Kisumu All Stars.

The third-place finish handed them a date with Posta Rangers in the promotion playoff and they were to go out on a 3-2 aggregate.
