Chicharito set for West Ham departure

Mexico striker Striker Javier Hernandez has revealed he is seeking a move away from West Ham United this summer.

The 31-year-old who joined the Hammers in 2017 from Bayer Leverkusen for £16 million and has scored 16 goals in 61 appearances for the London side, has one year remaining on his three-year contract.

In an interview with Goal, Chicharito said: “The team is working with us. [My agent] is the one more involved,' he said on the first episode of a Youtube series Naked Humans.

“He is Spanish so has more connections here. He's searching for a club if we can move. If not I will stay with West Ham easy, happy. I have one year left, but West Ham and I have decided it would just be easier to go out.

Child

Hernandez missed out on playing at the Gold Cup this summer due to the birth of his first child.

Chicharito who previously featured for Manchester United is said to be in need of regular game time with the Hammers having Marco Aurnatovic as their main striker.

A return to Germany and a move to La Liga has been muted as his possible destinations.
