English Premier League club Arsenal are set to hold talks with Saint-Etienne over a deal for defender William Saliba.
The 18-year-old was reportedly impressive in Ligue 1 last season and has attracted interest from Arsenal and north London rivals Tottenham.
Reports earlier this month suggested Arsenal had agreed to terms with the teenage defender, who only recently agreed on a new four-year contract.
St. Etienne are demanding £27 million for Saliba and had wanted him back on loan for next season.
Reports in France suggest Arsenal will meet with St Etienne on Tuesday to hold discussions over the possible transfer.
The Emirates remains Saliba's preferred destination but Arsenal are set to face competition for his signature.
L'Equipe claims Tottenham are also keen to hold talks with the France youth international and believe they will be able to reach an agreement.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has limited resources to spend this summer after failing to secure Champions League football.
The Gunners have a transfer budget of just £40m with Emery keen to overhaul his squad this summer.
