Manchester United new signings Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have been handed their club jersey numbers in readiness for the new season.
James will wear the number21 jersey left vacant by the departing Ander Herrera with Bissaka who signed over the weekend having been handed jersey number 29
United said in a statement: “We can officially confirm that new signing Daniel James will wear the no.21 shirt for Manchester United.
“The young Wales international has inherited the number from the departing Ander Herrera, who had been its previous occupant for five years.
“James joined the Reds last month from Swansea City, penning a five-year deal at Old Trafford. He has since been followed into the club by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who will wear no.29.”
In taking the number 21, James will be the seventh United player to wear the jersey, since squad numbers were introduced for the Premier League's second season, 1993/94.
Previous wearers of the jersey include defender Rafael Da Silva, Diego Forlan, Dong Fangzhuo, Henning Berg and Pat McGibbon.
