Midfielder Ali Hassan Abondo is currently training with Gor Mahia as the team gear for the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup and the coming 2019/20 season.

Abondo who was a darling at Gor Mahia before moving to South Africa has been out of action for some time since leaving Bloemfontein Celtic in July 2017 and will hope that he can secure a deal as the club continue to represent Kenya on the continental stage.

Gor will be Kenya’s CAF Champions League representative next season and this is a platform that many players will be hoping to use to get better deals from the watching scouts who frequently grace the games.

Ajax Cape Town

Abondo joined Ajax Cape Town in January 2017 and could only last for six months before joining Celtic. After his Celtic stint, the player was rumoured to have arrived in Zambia to sign for Zanaco FC. Apart from Gor Mahia, Abondo featured for Sony Sugar and Tusker FC in the KPL.

The news comes at a time when the club has already roped in five new faces ahead of the new season. The five of Tobias Otieno and Abdalla Shura from Sony, Elvis Ronack from Nzoia Sugar and Nairobi Stima duo of Dennis Oalo and Curtis Wekesa.
