Immediate former Mathare United forward Cliff Nyakeya has thanked his former employees after sealing a move to Egyptian top-flight side FC Masr.
Nyakeya completed the move on Tuesday after leaving Mathare United at the end of last season and according to the player, everything has not been easy since he arrived in Egypt earlier this week.
In a Facebook post, Nyakeya says how he almost lost hope in inking a deal with the Egyptian top flight newbies but thanked his fans and friends for the support they accorded him; the player assuring his faithful that he was going to give him best in his new home.
The post noted: “Things didn't start well in the first few days and maybe I could be at home by now but thank God He intervened when things and situations harden then something great is on the way.
“Thanks to the Almighty God, my family, my second family (Chris Omondi's), friends and relatives plus fans for the support you've given me all through.
“Thank you Mathare United family for the platform you gave me. Now I have taken a new challenge today I know it's not going to be easy but I wasn't born and started walking immediately so am going to give it a try since that's what I always do, TRYING.”
