πŸ”΄ πŸ“ BBC Sport's David Ornstein provides Arsenal transfer update

BBC's Arsenal correspondent David Ornstein has his ear close to the ground with all Arsenal transfer news and he's given an update on a few of Unai Emery's big targets.

Arsenal's budget for the summer has been hampered by their failure to qualify for the 2019/2020 Champions League and, as such, they have been pursuing loan deals or trying to restructure bigger transfer fees to make them manageable.

Arsenal wants to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, a player that starred at the recent U21 European Championships.

Arsenal's record with Spanish loanees of late hasn't been good, with Denis Suarez' move failing to work out for all parties last season. The move for Ceballos is understood to be a loan one, with Real Madrid not willing to make the deal permanent although the player isn't in Zidane's plans for 2019/2020.

The move for Saint-Etienne teenager William Saliba looked to have stalled with Arsenal refusing to pay enough of the transfer fee upfront and it was rumoured that Tottenham had edged ahead for his signature. However, it seems as though an agreement is close on the talented young centre back who will then be loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the 2019/2020 season.
