Burnley and Wigan Athletic are in contention to battle it out for Norwich City goalkeeper Jon McCracken according to Football Insider reports.
The goalkeeper is currently on trial at Wigan having also had a trial with Burnley earlier this month and the two sides are now both looking to sign the youngster.
McCracken is highly rated and comes with a huge amount of potential and Burnley have stated that they would look to use him in their youth squad in the Under 23’s whereas Wigan would put him straight into the first team as either their third or fourth choice goalkeeper.
The Scottish international was primarily a third-choice keeper for Daniel Farke’s Norwich side last season as they won promotion to the Championship but he is now looking for more regular first-team football as he continues to develop in his career.
McCracken joined the Canaries from Hamilton in 2016 but have found his first-team opportunities limited largely due to the impressive form of Tim Krul.
Norwich are also believed to be willing to allow the 19-year-old to leave on a free transfer as he goes on the search for regular football.
However, they face a battle for McCracken with Newcastle United also believed to be interested in capturing his signature.
Their number one goalkeeper Martin Dubravka was in fine form last season but they are looking to boost competition in that area.
Dubravka is attracting interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur which could force Newcastle’s hand into enquiring about McCracken.
