Ahead of their 2019 African Cup of Nations final against Algeria, Senegal forward Sadio Mane has admitted that despite the match being tough he is looking forward to winning the title.
The two teams met in the group stages with Algeria emerging as 1-0 winners courtesy of a goal from Youcef Belaili. Senegal and Algeria booked their places in the final in dramatic fashion with the Desert Foxes winning against Nigeria with a 95th-minute free-kick from Riyadh Mahrez while the Lions of Terenaga needed an own goal to proceed.
In an interview with BBC Sport, Mane reiterated that he would swap the Champions League medal for that of the AFCON, "For sure, I would be ready even today [to swap]. Maybe I don't need to swap when we win it hopefully.
"We know it won't be easy but it's normal, it's part of football. Algeria is a great team and now I'm just looking forward to playing in the final and to win it."
Mane will be hoping to guide Senegal to their first-ever African Cup of Nations title when the two team clash on Friday 19th July at the Cairo International Stadium in a 10 PM (EAT) kick-off.
