Striker Odion Ighalo has retired from international football after taking part at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ighalo scored five goals for the Super Eagles at the AFCON 2019, and is in line to win the top scorer award.
The 30-year-old also equaled late Rashidi Yekini's record of five goals a Super Eagles player has ever scored at the Cup of Nations.
Ighalo who plays for Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua, Completesports.com, learnt has reportedly informed Rohr of his decision to retire, and the coach has accepted it in good faith.
He will be joining Mikel, who announced his retirement on Thursday.
Ighalo finished as top scorer in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with seven goals.
On 24 March 2015, after a series of strong performances for Watford, newly appointed Nigeria interim coach Daniel Amokachi selected Ighalo for the first time. He made his Super Eagles debut two days later, starting in a 0–1 friendly home loss to Uganda.
He has since went on to score 16 goals in 35 appearances for the Super Eagles.
