After making the switch from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City in the July transfer window, Rodri has been asked to compare his former manager Diego Simeone to Pep Guardiola.
Rodri started his career at Atleti before moving to Villareal in 2013. Atletico boss Diego Simeone brought him back last summer and since then City boss Pep Guardiola has been on his radar. The Spaniard was also linked with Bayern Munich but chose Manchester City, signing a five-year contract with the champions of England.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of City's clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League Asia Trophy, Rodri was asked to compare Guardiola to Simeone, "They are different and different ways of looking at football but I am lucky I had the chance to learn about both, for me an incredible experience.
"One year with Simeone and with Pep now see how I learn from him. You want to win the same as Pep, You have to keep working and look what he’s teaching you and that’s why I came here."
