Wolverhampton have beaten Manchester City on 3-2 on penalties to win the Asia Trophy, rounding off a successful pre-season in China.
Raheem Sterling had the chance of giving City the lead in the 21st minute but failed to convert from the spot. The match ended in a goalless draw after regulation time forcing the game into penalties. Rui Patricio saved three of the Premier League champions’ penalties after an impressive display during the 90 minutes to help Wolves come out on top in their first-ever participation in the competition.
