Immediate former Gor Mahia midfielder Francis Mustafa has joined Rwandese side Bugesera FC on a two-year deal according to Rwandese papers.
The player who had been linked with a move to Uganda giants Vipers SC is seen signing a contract with the club representatives and will be joined by Ivorian Kouame Dynho as the new faces in the team.
The midfielder joined Gor Mahia from Kiyovu Sports of Rwanda in June 2018 to fill the gap left by Rwandese Meddie Kagere who had joined Tanzanian giants Simba FC then.
Mustafa was among the players who left Gor Mahia last month with others being striker Jacques Tuyisenge who has since joined Petro Atletico of Angola, Francis Kahata who has joined Simba SC of Tanzania, Uganda Erisa Ssekisambu.
Others were Pascal Ogweno who has joined KCB FC, Harun Shakava who has joined Nkana FC of Zambia, George Odhiambo who has joined Tusker FC, Cercidy Okeyo who has joined Sofapaka FC and goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji.
Mustafa's exit was necessitated by Gor Mahia's move to sign another four foreign players and the KPL foreign quota rule which only allows a club to have a maximum of five players from outside the country in its ranks at any given time.
He was part of the Burundi squad that participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that was hosted in Egypt.
