Michy Batshuayi to stay at Chelsea and fight for place

Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi will stay at Chelsea and fight for a place despite the possibility of moving out on loan with a few clubs having shown interest.

Batshuayi is yet to feature for Chelsea this season and is believed to be behind young England striker Tammy Abraham in the pecking order. something that should jeopardize his chances in the first team

According to reports from the Evening Standard, Batshuayi isn't looking for a loan move and is keen to show new manager Frank Lampard that he can be of use at the Bridge with his side yet to win a competitive game this season.

The 26-year-old was demoted to the club's development side and scored twice as they beat Liverpool 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Batshuayi moved to Chelsea in a £33 million deal back in 2016 but has had three loan spells away from the club at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace.

January Window

Should he find less game time in the first half of the season, the Standard reports that he will consider his future with the club in the short January window.

Apart from him and Abraham, Chelsea has the experience of Olivier Giroud to depend on but the club has struggled for goals despite dominating games.

Their wastefulness in front of goal was witnessed in their opening day against Man United where they missed a series of chances before going down 4-0; the same exhibited over the weekend where they let a 1-0 lead slip at the hands of Leicester.
