Jurgen Klopp will miss the services of Naby Keita when his side plays Arsenal on Saturday at the Anfield, as the midfielder continues his journey to recovery.
The Guinea international will miss the third Premier League match of the season, as he recovers from an injury he sustained in the lead-up to the UEFA Super Cup game against Chelsea in Istanbul.
He subsequently missed last weekend’s 2-1 win at Southampton and will be out once again as Liverpool entertain the Gunners in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday.
“Long-term’ doesn’t mean six months, it means a couple of weeks," Klopp responded when questioned on Keita's availability during the pre-match press conference.
“So no, no real news. He’s still doing well but not close enough for this weekend," he added.
Klopp has an array of talent in midfield that he can call on, with Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson and Chamberlain all available.
The Reds are atop the English Premier League standings on six points, same as Arsenal, but boast of a superior goal difference.
Liverpool ran out 5-1 winners last time the two sides met at Anfield, and Klopp will be hoping his side continue with the same.
