Government reject would be Chipolopolo coach

The Zambian Government has rejected the appointment of would-be Chipolopolo coach Vaseline Jelusic according to local media reports.

Government is reportedly displeased with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for disregarding its recommendation to advertise the job. FAZ headhunted to end up with the Serbian trainer.

FAZ was scheduled to name a new Chipolopolo coach this week. The new Copper Bullets coach was expected to be in the country this week to finalize his contract.

Pierre Lechantre, a French coach who won the 2000 African Cup of Nations with Cameroon and Tomislav Ivković, A 59-year-old Croatian manager and Luc Eymael, A Belgian football manager are the other three coaches who were vying for the job as reported in local media.

Zambia has a busy schedule ahead with a CHAN qualifier against Eswatini and 2021 AFCON qualifiers which are set to kick off in November
