Aston Villa’s Marvelous Nakamba is due to have a statue of himself built in Hwange.
The project plan has been confirmed by Zimbabwean Football legend and former English Premier League star Peter Ndlovu.
“Marvelous knows that we are recognising his hard work with this idea and hopefully the statue will be a confidence booster for him,” Ndlovu told The Herald.
Ndlovu, earned high respect in England through his years as a Coventry City striker, pointed out that Nakamba’s move from Club Brugge to Vila is a very special attainment.
“Moving to Aston Villa is an unbelievable achievement for him and we must show our support as a nation.”
“The people of Hwange recognise their heroes and while the exact details are yet to be finalised, discussions are taking place to decide what happens next,” concluded Nldovu.
Meanwhile, Nakamba made his Vila debut in last night's thumping 6-1 win over lower division side Crewe in an Football League Cup. Nakamba when make his Premier League debut away at Crystal Palace this coming Saturday at 16:00.
