Zimbabwe Warriors caretaker coach Joey Antipas has named his new captains ahead of Somalia.
As reported on Futaa, the Warriors take on Somalia in a first round World Cup 2022 qualifier in Djibouti today Friday 5 September.
With several regulars missing the call up for Antipas’ debut, including captain Knowledge Musona, Ovidy Karuru and Danny Phiri, the former Chicken Inn coach has elected Cefn Druids’ Alec Mudimu, while SuperSport United winger Kudakwashe Mahachi will be the vice-captain.
“Wales-based defender Alec Mudimu will lead the team while SuperSport winger Kudakwashe Mahachi will deputise him,” reported Soccer24.
A draw or a narrow loss for Zimbabwe in today’s first leg games should favourable result ahead of the return leg in Bulawayo on Sunday 7 September.
