Gor Mahia started the 2019/20 season as the favourites still to win the Kenyan Premier League and with new faces on board, so were new numbers.
In the final list submitted to the KPL officials, the club omitted the name of Harambee Stars right back Philemon Otieno but a chunk of new players have inherited jerseys left by players who have departed to various teams.
Despite not featuring for the club in the new season, goalkeeper Fredrick Odhiambo will don the number One jersey with other goalkeepers in Boniface Oluoch and new acquisition David Mapigano wearing jersey 29 and 16 respectively.
Captain Kenneth Muguna was given the number ten jersey inherited from midfielder Cercidy Okeyo who left for Sofapaka with his number 8 jersey handed to new signing Dennis Oalo.
Another new signing in Clifton Miheso will be wearing jersey 23, Ivory Coast striker Gislain Yikpe jersey 9, Ghanaian striker Francis Afriyie jersey 19 with Elvis Ronack handed jersey 22.
New club midfield kingpin Tobias Otieno will don jersey five as the likes of Nicholas Kipkurui, Geoffrey Ochieng, Wellington Ochieng, Shafiq Batambuze maintaining their squad numbers.
Defender Abdala Shira roped in from Sony Sugar FC will wear jersey 25 with Philemon Otieno’s jersey 26 handed to no one. The same applies to jersey 14 previously worn by striker Dennis Oliech with the number handed to no player.
New wing sensation Dickson Ambundo will wear jersey 16 as Maurice Ojwang, roped from Western Stima, handed jersey 28.
