Tusker FC were held to a 1-1 draw by Mathare United in their second Kenyan Premier League match staged at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
After a goalless draw in the first half, Tusker got their goal from the penalty spot through Otieno a goal which looked like the winner for the hosts. However, in the stoppage time, Klinsman Omulanga scored a wonderful goal to deny Tusker their first win of the season while forcing a draw for Mathare.
Searching for their first win of the season, the two sides were keen not to fall early in the game. The Slam Boys had settled for a goalless draw with Bandari in the league opener while Tusker suffered a 5-2 loss to Gor Mahia. The draw means the two sides are winless after the second round of the league.
The first chance went to the hosts as Kevin Okoth delivered a beautiful cross to Macharia but Job was on top and blocked the shot from reaching the goalkeeper.
After 25 minutes of play, the match was stopped following a collision between Eugine Asike and Job Ochieng and medics from both sides were called to attend to the players.
In the 70th minute, Tusker were awarded a penalty after Namanda was brought down in the box by Owino. Timothy Otieno stepped up to take sending Job Ochieng the wrong way to hand the Breweries the lead.
In the stoppage time, Omulanga leveled the scores for Mathare United with a rasping drive from the edge of the box.
Tusker will be away to Zoo FC while Mathare will be entertaining Ulinzi Stars.

In the other match, Sony Sugar bounced back in style after beating Nzoia 2-1 in the KPL early kick-off match. Stephen Onyango and Salmon Omollo gave the visitors a two-goal lead before Brian Wepo reduced the deficit, a goal which turned out to be a consolation.
