Uganda Premier League club Mbarara City have confirmed the appointment of new head coach Paul Nkata.
Mbarara City officially announced the news on Tuesday, September 17 that Nkata penned a one-year deal.
Nkata takes over from Brian Ssenyondo who has been coaching the Ankole Lions on an interim basis.
The former footballer turned coach returns to his native Uganda after a one-year hiatus - he had resigned from URA FC after the latter suffered a severe 7-1 defeat to KCCA in April 2018.
He has also previously coached Kenyan sides Kakamega HomeBoyz, Tusker, and Nakumatt FC.
The appointment comes seven months after he had been accused of match-fixing in the Kenyan Premier League.
His first game in charge will be against Busoga United on October 1, 2019.
