Barcelona looking to sell Samuel Umtiti in January

Laliga giants Barcelona are open to shipping out France defender Samuel Umtiti in January 2020 this as reported by Marca.

Barcelona don’t expect to make any major signings in January but with after a slow start to the season, the club is expected to ship out players they feel are surplus to requirements with some high-profile names already being muted.

According to the claims, Barcelona will make renewed attempts to sell on Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti and Arturo Vidal as they try to balance the books for the club.

Linked with Arsenal

Umtiti who was linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer is yet to feature for the La Liga club this season, sitting on the bench for their first three games before picking up a foot injury that will keep him out for around six weeks.

The player spoke recently about how he had no involvement in any transfer business over the summer and admitted he didn’t know whether his agent had spoken with Arsenal, as he just wanted to focus on Barcelona at the time.

The club already lost midfielder Phillipe Coutinho to Bayern Munich and rumour is rife that they are doing all they can to pave way for the arrival of Neymar next summer.
