The Kenyan Premier League week three came with loads of goals after some drought in week two with a chunk of teams tearing form books to record wins.
Striker Allan Wanga once again showed that he is not done yet after scoring a brace in Kakamega Homeboyz’ 3-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks in Bukhungu to take his tally to three in the season; the club’s other goal scored by Kennedy Onyango.
Apart from Wanga, there was another brace from Brian Nyakan whose Sofapaka side saw off struggling Chemelil Sugar FC 4-0; the other goals scored by Ellie Asieche and Timonah Wanyonyi.
Apart from Wanyonyi, there was a chunk of players who opened their accounts this season for their various teams. In this list was Luke Namanda who came with the winner for Tusker FC in their tie against Zoo Kericho; this being his first goal for the Brewers since joining them from Nzoia Sugar FC.
John Mark Makwatta was the other player who opened his account with AFC Leopards to extend Wazito FC winless streak to three games. The loss leaves the league newbies at position 15 in the 18-team log with only two points with Chemelil the only team in the division yet to record any point.
Gor Mahia put their off-field woes to record a 2-1 win over KCB FC. Ghanaian import Francis Afriyie was to put the Steve Pollack side into the lead with Lawrence Juma doubling the tally minutes to the break. Former Go boy Enock Agwanda pulled a goal back in the second half but it was too little to change the outcome of the tie.
