Chukwueze, Dele-Bashiru nominated for Golden Boy award

Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze and Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru have both been nominated for the 2019 Golden Boy Award.

Both Nigerians were included in a 40-man list released by organisers of the event.

The Golden Boy Award was initiated and given by popular Italian newspaper Tuttosport, every year, for the most outstanding player in Europe under 21 years of age. Nominees must be players of clubs in top tier European leagues, and voting are done by journalists.

Chukwueze and Dele-Bashiru will be looking to make history as the first African to win the prestigious Golden Boy Award which is in it’s 17th edition this year.
