Zambian duo of striker Patson Daka and midfielder Enock Mwepu put in good shifts for Austrian Bundesliga giants Redbull Salzburg who recorded a hard-fought 2-1 win over Rapid Wien to progress to the round of 16 of the Austrian Cup.
Patson Daka started upfront with Sekou Koita who started the match after injury ruled out Hee-Chan Hwang and Norwegian teenage Sensation Erling Braut Haaland sat out due to an illness.
After a goalless first half Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai put defending Champions, Salzburg in the lead just six minutes into the second stanza but the lead did not last long as Koya Kitagawa leveled matters four minutes later.
The two sides could not find the winner and the match was forced to go into extra time. Japanese midfielder Takumi Minamino snatched the winner in the dying minutes as Salzburg progressed to the round of 16.
Zambian midfield ace Enock Mwepu came on in the 18th minute to replace French midfielder Antoine Bernede who suffered a shin fracture and put in a decent shift.
