Football Kenya Federation has explained why winger Ayub Timbe was not called to the Harambee Stars team that is preparing to face Mozambique in a friendly next month.
A statement from FKF on their official handles noted:” Influential forward Ayub Timbe will be missing in action when we play Mozambique in an international friendly match on October 13, 2019.
“His club Beijing Renhe (China), requested for his omission from the team as they will be having an important league assignment on the day.”
Timbe was part of the team in Stars the last outing against Uganda Cranes and is considered as one of the most lethal forwards in the current national team set up.
Other notable omissions from the team include Sweden based midfielder Eric Johanna and goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.
Kimanzi has however handed call ups to players who were given a berth in Sebastien Migne reign with the likes of defender Harun Shakava handed a call-up.
Others who have been included in the team include Zesco United midfielder Anthony Akumu so is striker Masoud Juma.
Tusker FC defender Hillary Wandera and goalkeeper Ian Otieno who features for Zambian Super League side Red Arrows are also handed call ups.
