Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is hopeful Jesse Lingard didn't suffer a serious hamstring as first thought on Thursday night
United had one of their worst performances as they settled for a goalless draw with AZ Alkmaar in their second match of Europa League. Lingard, omitted from Gareth Southgate's latest England squad, hobbled off the plastic pitch at the Cars Jeans Arena in stoppage-time, leaving United to finish the uninspiring stalemate at the home of ADO Den Haag - AZ's temporary home - with 10 men.
"Jesse tweaked his hamstring, he didn't feel he could risk it," Solskjaer said after the game.
"Hopefully it's not too bad."
Manchester United have failed to win any of their last 10 away matches across all competitions (D4 L6) – they last went on a longer winless run on the road between February and September 1989 (run of 11).
United will now put their focus in the Premier League and will be away to Newcastle on Sunday evening.
