Manchester United and Liverpool legend Michael Owen has identified Unai Emery's biggest problem at Arsenal.
Arsenal registered a 4-0 win over Standard Liege on Thursday night with Unai Emery having benched Nicolas Pepe for the match. Owen now believes Emery's biggest problem is the form of their club's record signing Pepe. The Ivorian has managed to score just a single goal since his move from Lille last summer having endured an underwhelming start to his Arsenal career. Pepe was brought in with 24 minutes remaining and failed to make an impact.
And now Owen says Emery will be starting to become concerned by the record signing.
"We’re talking about a lot of positives for Arsenal but there’s one negative niggling away at the moment and that’s Pepe," he told BT Sport.
"I was excited by him, I watched him in the French league, he looked a very good player. He started the season, the first game he looks as though he had a bag of tricks. But he’s just gone off the boil and that’s a huge investment for anybody but it’s a huge investment for Arsenal especially."
Arsenal have now picked two wins from their opening matches in the Europa League.
