Fans pressure force Harry Maguire to delete Tweet after barren draw against AZ Alkmaar

Despite not featuring in the barren draw against AZ Alkmaar, Harry Maguire took to Twitter to post a message to Manchester United fans but he was forced to delete the Tweet after not going down well with supporters.

After being incessantly linked with United since last season, Maguire joined the club in the summer transfer window in a deal that saw him become the world's most expensive defender at £80million. United produced another dismal performance against Alkmaar as they failed to register a single shot on target.

Maguire chose to look at the result positively despite having a run of 11 winless games away from home, "A point away from home. Thanks for the support. See you Sunday." Fans, however, saw the Tweet as an overly positive reaction to a disappointing result, Maguire ultimately deleted the post, which isn't visible on his Twitter account on Friday morning.
