Mathare United captain Crispin Oduor has warned Wazito FC ahead of their weekend Kenyan Premier League faceoff.
Wazito overcame the Salim Ali coach charges 4-1 in a preseason friendly but according to Oduor, it will be a different outing all together on Saturday.
“It is true we have not had the best of outings against them (Wazito) but we will meet tomorrow under different circumstances. The preseason game was just that, a preseason game and nothing was at stake,” Oduor is quoted by the club’s website.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides in the top flight with Wazito picking four points from the Slum boys in their debut season in 2018 and Oduor, who has missed his club’s last three games with an injury, says they know what to expect from them.
“We have played against them in the past and know that the game will be a tough one. But we also know what we are capable of and go into the game buoyed by our recent performances.
“We have been working hard in training the whole week and everyone is locked and ready for the game against Wazito which we are targeting nothing short of a win,” asserted Oduor, the only surviving member of the 2008 title-winning squad.
The game is slated for a 3 pm EAT Kick-Off on Saturday 5 October at the MISC Kasarani.
