Wazito FC twice rallied from behind to pick up a point against Mathare United in a pulsating 2-2 draw staged at the MISC Kasarani on Saturday 5th October.
Salim Ali's boys came into the match looking to preserve their unbeaten record this season while Wazito aimed to protect their unbeaten head to head record against the Slum Boys.
After a bright start, Mathare opened the scoring in fortunate circumstances as James Kinyanjui's headed flick-on fell to John Mwangi who took a touch before firing but Steve Njunge was unlucky to see his save cannon off Bernard Ochieng and into the net in the 28th minute.
Wazito pulled one back 10 minutes later when Mike Oduor's effort from outside the penalty area bounced off the post to hand Victor Ndinya a simple tap in as he managed to brilliantly stay onside after lying down following a knock.
Mathare retook the lead four minutes after the resumption of the second half when Chrispin Oduor floated in a sumptuous cross that caught the Wazito defense flat foot and met Kevin Kimani who tapped in for his first goal of the season.
Fred Ambani's side showed character by rallying from behind again in the 69th minute to draw level when Ali Abondo who had just been on the pitch for a few seconds delivered in a corner that was headed onto the path of Derrick Onyango by Paul Acquah for the former Mathare forward to head in.
Mathare next face KPL newbies Kisumu All Stars on Saturday 19th October while Wazito host high flying Kakamega Homeboyz a day before.
