Barcelona ace Lionel Messi has picked his headed goal against Manchester United in the 2009 Champions League final as his best ever in his glittering career.
The diminutive attacker is widely regarded to be the best player of his generation, having won numerous titles and individual awards in his highly successful career.
Speaking on Wednesday, the Argentine once again reiterated that the goal against the English giants is his all-time favourite.
"I said it many times, the one in Rome in the final against Manchester United," he told RAC1.
His goal in Rome secured the European title for the Spanish giants, which was also Messi's second medal in the competition.
Despite his height and standing amongst the United defence led by Rio Ferdinand, Messi rose highest to head into the top right corner, easily beating Edwin van der Sar.
He further revealed that Spain was his strongest opponent faced, in a 2-1 friendly loss at the Atletico Madrid grounds.
"Maradona was our coach and it was before the 2010 World Cup when they became champions. It was one of the matches that surprised me the most."
Messi is not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon and is getting back to his best following a niggling injury that kept him out of Barcelona's opening matches.
