Solskjaer will need 10 transfer windows to build good team - former Man United great

Former Manchester United player Mark Robins believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need 10 transfer windows in order to turn things around at the club.

Solskjaer started life at Old Trafford as caretaker manager in spectacular fashion, but the results have since dipped as pressure mounts.

The former champions are currently 12th on nine points after eight rounds of matches, marking a poor start for the club to a season in decades.

The Coventry manager, however, feels the Norwegian might crack on the pressure that is slowly mounting, and might not get the time he needs to turn things around.

"I’d love to see Ole get the time to be able to build because he is not doing it in one window; he’s going to need six, seven, eight, nine… 10 windows!" Coventry manager Robins told talkSPORT.

"You don’t get that time generally. Ultimately what he is doing is trying to implement the processes Sir Alex had in place prior to his retirement,"

"I think that is a huge ask. Remember Sir Alex went years prior to winning his first trophy and that will be very, very difficult to replicate because of the modern-day pressures,"

United face Liverpool in their next Premier League match at Old Trafford, hoping to get a result after a disappointing 1-0 loss away to Newcastle.
