Wazito head coach Fred Ambani believes his absence from the touchline when they come up against Kakamega Homeboyz over the weekend won’t affect his team’s performance.
Ambani was sent off in the club’s last outing against Mathare United and according to the tactician, he trusts his assistants will do his duties perfectly in the game.
“I won’t be at the bench but I have people who I trust so I know everything will go on as planned. I don’t think it will have a big effect,” Ambani said in his pre-match conference.
The tactician further stated that their comeback against Mathare United shows that they have the character to compete and with the return of some of their players from injury, they were sure of a good outing against Homeboyz.
“The last game against Mathare we came twice from behind and that showed that we have the character in the team because it’s not easy to come back from two goals against a team like Mathare.
Back From injuries
“We had injuries but I’m proud that some are back. Joe (Waithera) is back, Amos (Asembeka) is back and that is good for the team. We are confident of a good result in the match.
Asked about the state of the league, Ambani said: “The league is struggling and a lot of teams are feeling the heat. It is not a good picture for the players whose management is struggling to pay. I know it’s tough but Id encourage them to push because I don’t think suspending the league will paint a good picture.
“Ricardo (club owner) has helped us because he took the team when they were not good financially and Id encourage more people like Ricardo to come up and change our league.”
