Gini Wijnaldum claims Liverpool can emulate Arsenal to become invincibles

Georginio Wijnaldum believes that Liverpool could emulate Arsenal and become the new invincibles by staying unbeaten for the whole season.

Liverpool have had a blistering start to the season, winning all eight of their games so far in the league and hold an eight-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City. Arsenal became the first side in the modern era to go undefeated through an entire league season in 2003-04.

Wijnaldum was asked if Liverpool can go unbeaten the whole season, "It is possible. Nobody knows how it’s going to be. We have had some luck up to now, but we have also put a lot of hard work in. We don’t think about the fact that Arsenal did not lose in that season. We just try to give everything in every game."

Liverpool are one victory away from equalling the all-time English top-flight record of 18 consecutive victories, set by Manchester City between August and December 2017.
