Nzoia Sugar bounced back in style after beating Sofapaka 2-1 in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Saturday 19th at Sudi Stadium, Bungoma.
The Millers were coming from back to back defeats to KCB and Gor Mahia but Nzoia managed to pick maximum points against visiting Sofapaka.
Motivated Batoto ba Mungu took the lead in the 10th minute through Ellie Asieche beating Humphrey Katasi to silence the home fans in the early minutes. However, after the start of the second half, Collins Wakhungu leveled the scores for the hosts following a beautiful counter-attack play.
In the 54th minute, Nzoia made a complete comeback with Wakhunghu grabbing his brace of the day, beating Isma Watenga for the second time.
Collins Omondi's men will be up against Kariobangi Sharks on 26th October while Sofapaka will take on AFC Leopards.
Kisumu All Stars 1-2 Mathare United
At Moi Stadium in Kisumu, hosts Kisumu All-Stars looked to be on the verge of picking their first-ever win of the season over visiting Mathare. In a game that ended goalless draw in the first half, Gershom Arabe's deflected strike handed the hosts the lead in the 46th minute. However, Kevin Kimani scored the leveler in the 69th minute from close range.
Three minutes later, Mathare turned the tables as Clifford Alwanga put the Slum boys ahead with a superb volley that saw John Otieno beaten.
The win sees Mathare maintain their unbeaten run in the current season against struggling All Stars who are yet to register a single win this campaign. Salim Ali's boys will be up against title holders Gor Mahia while All Stars will try their luck against Sony Sugar.
