Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe clocked 90 minutes as Beijing Renhe fell 1-0 to hosts Tianjin Teda in a Chinese Super League clash played on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Germany striker Sandro Wagner gave the hosts the lead in the 59th minute in what proved to be the difference in the game.
The loss was Renhe’s fourth on the trot as they seek not to be relegated from the Chinese top flight; their last point in the league coming in August where they held Shenzhen to a 1-1 daw.
Foot of the Log
The team is currently at the foot of the 16 team log with 12 points after 25 games and should that be maintained until the end of the season then they will have no option but to get relegated to the second division.
They are seven points below 15th placed Shenzhen and nine points behind safety and they will hope for a change of fortunes when they take on Tianjin Tianhai in their next league game next Sunday.
Timbe missed Stars friendly game against Mozambique last Sunday as his club requested that he be excluded for the game as they had a league match that day; a match which his goal did less from preventing a 4-1 loss.
