Despite playing a number of high profile teams this season, Gor Mahia head coach Steven Polack admitted that Kariobangi Sharks is the best team he has come against so far.
Sharks managed to hold Gor Mahia at bay for large spells of their Kenyan Premier League encounter at the Afraha Stadium on Sunday but a last gasp goal from Ghanaian import Francis Afriye handed K'Ogalo maximum points.
Gor maintained their 100% record with the win and already hold a two-point advantage at the top of the table albeit playing a game less. The record KPL champions have so far faced sturdy teams in the name of Aigle Noir from Burundi, USM Alger from Algeria and 2016 KPL champions Tusker.
Speaking after the win over Sharks, Polack lauded the 2018 FKF Sheild winners, "Congratulations to Sharks, they gave us a good game, I think it is one of the best teams we have played so far, so they have to be proud of what they have done.
"I'm also proud of my boys, football is played till the final whistle and my boys did that. Most people will probably say we don't deserve to win, on chances it could have maybe been a draw, but I'm glad we got the three points."
