Forest Rangers head coach Perry Mutapa was left fuming after his side was handed a narrow one-nil loss by Zanaco away at Sunset Stadium.
Mutapa believes his team did not deserve to lose to Zanaco who according to him can not even build from the back. Mutapa went on to even praise who beat Green Buffaloes 3-1 in an early kick-off at the same venue.
“I do not know what to say to the players cause we have lost to a team we are not supposed to lose to, yes they have won but they never played to the standard, this also affects the national team,” he said.
“I watched the Zesco United game and it was a marvel to watch and that is how football should be played, building from the back.”
Mutapa alluded to the loss to his players failed to follow all his instructions.
“In the first 15 minutes, we kept the ball well, we penetrated and had 3 chances but we did not score,” he said.
“It’s very painful to lose to a team like zanaco, at some point they were leading but they could not start from the back. My players did not follow all my instructions, if they did we could have beaten Zanaco.”
Tafadzwa Rusike scored the only goal of the game in the 24th minute from the penalty spot. Forest Rangers have dropped to sixth place following the loss while Zanaco moves to seventh place.
