Man United ban fan for alleged racist abuse on Liverpool defender

English Premier League side Manchester United has banned a fan for aiming racist abuse at Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The fan is said to have been ejected from Old Trafford when United hosted Liverpool on Sunday with the English giants going forward to hand the season ticket holder an indefinite ban following the incident.

A United statement read: "Following our investigation into the alleged incidence of racist abuse on Sunday, we have issued an indefinite ban to the individual involved.

"This individual is not welcome at Old Trafford and we want to reinforce that we will continue to take strong action against anyone who we identify has engaged in racist or discriminatory abuse, either online or at our matches."

Second Phase

The incident came in a week when all the English Premier League clubs started the second phase of a ‘No Room for Racism’ campaign, which urges fans to report discriminatory behavior in stadiums.

The latest incidents come on a back of vile racist chants from the Bulgaria fans during a Euro qualifier earlier last week with other incidents reported at Bristol City's match at Luton, Northampton game against Salford City, and the FA Cup tie between Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town.
