Highlanders FC are Chibuku Super Cup semi-finalists after defeating FC Platinum in Sunday.
Strikes from Prince Dube, Denzel Khumalo and Tinashe Makanda were enough to dump out a 10-man Platinum Boys after Lawrence Mhlanga took a second yellow card on 60 minutes.
Bosso’s opener came on 11 minutes with a Dube penalty after Mhlanga handled the ball inside his penalty area. The 25th minute saw Khumalo make it 2-0 after shooting from outside the box.
It was game set and match on 88 minutes. Dube smartly found Makanda to finish off Platinum and book a place in the last four.
Meanwhile, at the Vengere Stadium, ZPC Kariba staged a superb come-back against Manica Diamonds. The Gem Boys found the lead through Stanley Ngala on 13 minutes, before Godknows Gwara found Manica’s leveler around the half-hour mark.
ZPC’s winner came on 43 minutes. James Marufu cooly slotted in his penalty, though Manica could have equalized five minutes before the end when Takunda Jeffrey missed a penalty.
Saturday, also saw Ngezi Platinum take the first semi-final place. Ngezi needed penalties to eliminate Black Rhinos 5-3 penalty shootouts after the game ended goalless.
