Didier Drogba shares the same opinion with Arsene Wenger on 2019 Ballon d’Or winner

Former Chelsea talisman Didier Drogba agrees with Arsene Wenger's opinion that Sadio Mane should bag the 2019 Ballon d'Or.

Mane had an outstanding campaign last season as he emerged the joint Premier League top scorer alongside Mohamed Salah and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang. The Senegalese has scored 68 goals in 137 appearances for Liverpool and helped the club win the Champions League this year.

When asked who should win the award, Wenger endorsed Mane to the gong, "Mane was the outstanding character. I would say – because he is a fighter… and efficient. He’s not scared of anybody. At the moment, he deserves huge credit."

In an interview with Paris Match, Drogba was also asked who should win the Ballon d'Or, "Sadio Mane. For the AFCON, the Champions League, and the league championship. What he does in the Premier League, very few players are able to do it.

"It is possible, but it would have been possible [for others to win] well before. There are many players who have represented well the African continent, like Samuel Eto’o."
