Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has moved to Twitter to explain his ‘crying goal celebration’ he pulled in their weekend win over Olympique de Marseille.
Mbappé scored a brace to push PSG’s lead to 4-0 before halftime and celebrated by crying; the celebration was a new one for his fans who are used to his ‘hands-under-arms goal celebration’.
A section of fans had gone on a rampage accusing the forward of disrespecting the Marseille team with others suggesting that it had something to do with his post-game comments after the win against Club Brugge where he expressed disappointment about not starting.
Explaining the new celebration, the Frenchman tweeted: “Many ask me why my celebration. It's just a private anecdote from last night with 2 friends. And not any valve against OM or a response to recent criticism.
Many have also called for Mbappe's celebration to be added to the latest FIFA 2020 game as a way of trolling your opponent after a goal. We at Futaa would have to agree.
