Frank Lampard rules out four Chelsea players for Manchester United clash

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confrimed that N'Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger will not feature in the Carabao Cup clash against Manchester United on Wednesday 30th October.

Kante has had injury problems all season and has not played since early October as he struggles with a groin problem, whereas Rudiger, whose issue also relates to his groin, has managed just one half of football this campaign.

Andreas Christensen and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are out with hamstring and Achilles injuries respectively, while Ross Barkley is a doubt for the game with an ankle problem.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the United clash, Lampard provided some team news, "You want me to name the team? I have to be aware that we haven’t changed that much. That’s my prerogative and the team is going pretty well.

"This game may be an opportunity for the players not playing - not to do with age, more to do with minutes in games - might mean some of the more experienced ones playing. (Kante fit?) "No". (Rudiger?) "No."
