Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that N'Golo Kante is set to return to training this week as he steps up his recovery from injury.
Kante missed Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge after withdrawing from the France line up to take on Iceland in the last international break.
Speaking in a press conference after the defeat to United, Lampard was asked whether Kante could feature before the international break, "Yeah hopefully. He’s hopefully training again in the next two or three days.
"He’s a top player. I would have liked to give Jorginho and Kovacic a rest tonight for what they’ve put in, for their physical output. But I couldn’t because N’Golo, Ross, Ruben…I couldn’t make those changes today and that what it is."
