Zimbabwe Warriors coach Joey Antipas has been forced to trim his AFCON 2021 squad following financial constraints.
Warriors will going full camp for two AFCON 2021 qualifier games against Botswana and Zambia next weekend.
Matchday one will be against the Zebras of Botswana next Friday in Harare, before a short trip to neighbours Zambia next Sunday.
Though no names have been listed, Antipas’ initial 32-man list will be cut to a group of 24 that will be financially easier to manage.
“Only 24 players will report for camp for the two matches against Botswana and Zambia. The Warriors technical team is finalising the squad,” Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said via NewsDay.
“Players are expected to start arriving in camp on Monday for the Friday match. The team will leave for Zambia on Sunday, the 17th for the match on Tuesday.”
