Steve Bruce reacts to Granit Xhaka transfer links to Newcastle United

Steve Bruce refused to be drawn into speculations linking Granit Xhaka with a move to Newcastle United as Arsenal reportedly want to offload the midfielder.

Xhaka was this week stripped of his captaincy at Arsenal following an outburst with fans in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace

The Swiss midfielder is yet to feature for Arsenal after the incident and has been left out of the squad to face Leicester City on Saturday.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Bournemouth clash, Bruce was asked about Xhaka's links to Newcastle, "Granit Xhaka? Look, I was only in the job two weeks and I was linked with 42 players. So I am not going to comment on anybody else's players. He is a very good player."

Xhaka was signed by Arsene Wenger for £30 million from Borussia Monchengladbach but Arsenal reportedly want to sell him due to his damaged relationship with fans.
